“Duelin’ Banjos” – Eric Weissberg and Steve Mandell

There’s all kind ‘o story about this. It was composed by Arthur Smith in the ’50s and
appropriated by Eric Weissberg in the ’70s for the movie ‘Deliverance’. (Arthur Smith
successfully sued for ownership and was subsequently awarded a Grammy for it).
Andy takes up the banjo and Gary rolls out on the acoustic guitar. You might hear this
one in the parking lot of some bluegrass weekend festival but we’re most likely the only
ones who are gonna play it on stage.

OMG! I was just talking with a friend from high school reminiscing about the time we saw Andy playing his banjo at a bar in Westport CT back in 1978, I think it was! Wish wish WISH I could see this one live!
